BCMW has received several grants from IHDA (Illinois Housing Development Authority) historically. Currently BCMW only administers the HRAP (Home Repair & Accessibility Program) program.
As BCMW is notified by IHDA of upcoming grants, BCMW will continue to strive to obtain future rehabilitation grants.
assists low- and very low-income homeowners with funds for vital health and safety repairs and accessibility improvements. The program, through these activities, aims to preserve existing affordable housing stock, provide investment in disadvantaged communities, improve the health and well-being of occupants, and help low-income and disabled or mobility-impaired individuals remain in their homes.
Eligible homeowners may receive up to $45,000 in assistance for eligible repairs and/or accessibility improvements, while homeowners participating in the Roof Only option may receive up to $21,500. Assistance is provided to homeowners in the form of a 5- or 3-year forgivable loan. Please note, total household income must be at or below 80 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI)to be eligible for the program.

There are no extensions to this grant. Only services BCMW’s four county area:
Bond, Clinton, Marion and Washington counties in Illinois.
Our current grant will complete rehabilitation work on approximately 8 homes within BCMW’s service area.
An ongoing waiting list covers BCMW’s four (4) county area.
Requirements when applications are taken from BCMW’s existing waiting list:
A recapture agreement (lien) will be recorded in the property’s county after receipt of this grant. This lien will be released by IHDA after the recapture timeline has expired.
Repairs could include:
Ramps, bathrooms etc.
BCMW follows the HUD (US Department of Housing and Urban Development) HQS Housing Quality Standards. These standards determine what work needs to be done for each home.
A qualified BCMW assessor will do an assessment per the HQS.
Each property is case-by-case.
Single family homes (stick built) are eligible for this program.
